The Golden Belt Humane Society is thrilled to announce that they were voted the winner during the recent meeting of the 100+ People Who Care group in Barton County. This means that they will receive up to $10,000 or more in direct donations from members of the philanthropic group.

Four years ago, a new philanthropic group was launched in Barton County known as “100 People Who Care.” The model for the project isn’t new, as these groups like this one exist in almost all 50 states and in many countries around the world. But on February 7th, 2017, the first ever giving meeting was held in Barton County, and Almost Home Inc. was voted the winning charity for over $10,000 in donations.  Since then, the group has raised approximately $120,000 in donations for non-profits in Barton County at quarterly meetings of the members.
